This article is more than revealing hidden files. It's to understand the purpose of this feature. Right from the start Microsoft Windows XP (or any other version) hides certain files from displaying in Windows Explorer. Any critical files linked to the OS or to specific software they will apply the hidden attribute so you don't accidentally remove them from your machine and stop the program from working properly. A quick note that might come in handy is that Viruses, spyware, Trojans, and other malware (malicious software) is well known to have hidden attributes applied to them.

Wow. Now that's a lot of words in a title. Anyways, a lot of people have sent me a file, created in Paint as a Bitmap (.BMP). These files are 20 times or more the size of a JPEG or GIF! What's even worse is when I can't establih a good connection with some people, this Image sometimes takes 30 minutes to download, which would normally take 10 seconds if it were saved as a JPEG or GIF.

Windows XP Professional or higher is the only requirement. Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is by far one of the most popular terminal services out there. Why? Because it is built into Windows NT 4.0 Server / 2000 / XP/ Vista and it is very simple to setup.
