Are you having a problem installing Internet Explorer 7 onto your computer?
The wait is over Internet Explorer 7.0 is finally here and I love it! I won't go into fine detail about the browser but here are some features that looks promising: Simplified User Experience, Advanced Printing, Instant Search Box, Favorites Center, RSS Feeds, Tabbed Browsing, Quick Tabs, Tab Groups, and Page Zoom. You may find more information about Internet Explorer 7.0 at the Microsoft website.
Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) is a requirement to install Internet Explorer 7.0. Oh yeah, I almost forgot if you're not running a genuine copy of Windows XP you're going to have a heck of a time installing it.
This technique to install Internet Explorer 7.0 is only for educational purposes only.
Before we begin you will need to get a copy of Internet Explorer 7.0 (IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe) make sure to choose Windows XP SP2.
Extract IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe with WinRar into a folder. (right click on the file > click Extract to IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu)
Download the patched iecustom.dll and copy-paste it into update subdirectory of IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu subfolder(overwrite if necessary).
Run update.exe in the update folder. When it completes exit without restart.
Download normaliz.dll and copy-paste it into C:\Windows\System32\ make sure to keep a copy that's easy to access. Recommended to keep a copy on your desktop. Reboot the computer.
After restarting the computer you might get an error message when you log in. Normaliz.dll can not be found and you're stuck without a desktop. To fix this problem (if this applies to you) you need do the following:
Press ctrl-alt-delete > click on Task Manager.
At the top of Task Manager click on File > Run.
Type cmd and click Ok
At the command prompt type (I assume you made a copy of normaliz.dll in the root of c:\ but change the path if it's saved some where else) copy c:\normaliz.dll c:\windows\system32\normaliz.dll
Reboot and the problem is gone.
Run xmllitesetup.exe located in the update subfolder.
